A Friend of Unfair Park who works for Neiman Marcus says our earlier item about 100th anniversary exclusives is nothing: "The real big deal," she writes, "is going to be the NM Exclusives Event starting September 10. We have over 100 items designed exclusively for our 100th anniversary by the fashion world's finest." Such as? Well, she didn't say, but this item from The San Jose Mercury News fills in the blanks:

Neiman Marcus is offering several designer exclusives tied into the anniversary celebration, including handbags by Judith Leiber and Balenciaga, shoes by Gucci and Giuseppe Zanotti and clothes by Theory, DKNY, Carolina Herrera, Marchesa and Monique Lhuillier.
Enh. See, we're cheap, tasteless bastards. We're more excited by the news that on the same day, Neimans will starts handing out gratis cookies ("the one that inspired an urban legend," says our breathless, sellin'-it Friend), along with the recipe and a teeny tote bag. "And starting September 13, for three weeks, the downtown store will be transformed with more than 20 exhibits," she tells Unfair Park. "Like our fabulous fortnights of yore." My late grandmother will be sad she can't make it, as she was a big fan of the fortnight. Paw-Paw, he liked the cookies. --Robert Wilonsky
