John Caparulo at the Addison Improv John "Cap" Caparulo earned his own half-hour Comedy Central Presents, which recently aired on TBS, and is now a part of Blue Collar Comedy: The Next Generation. We're sure this working-class fella will feel right at home here in North Texas, where he'll be performing this Friday through Monday. Come here him talk about stuff all Americans can agree on -- how much Canada sucks and how much bacon rocks. And no, Pepsi is NOT okay!
Michael Malone at Hyena's in Fort Worth Featured on the Bob and Tom Radio and TV Show and performing across the country in over 35 states, Malone is a high-energy act full of sarcasm and a spot-on impression of his poor girlfriend. He'll be here Friday and Saturday. Just don't ask to meet his dog. And if you do, hide your legs.
Tony Rock at the Arlington Improv A true ladies man (only the ugly ones, though), Tony Rock will work his charm in Arlington this Friday through Monday. The brother of a very famous Rock, Tony is making a name for himself -- he's host of the newly revamped Apollo Live and is the recently added series regular on BET's Reed Between the Lines. He'll tell you about "The Switch" and why arguing with a black woman is like the NBA Finals of fighting.
Karith Foster and Marvin Michaels at Hyena's in Dallas Serious comedy addict? Come out and see two feature acts, both Texas natives. Foster is a comedian, TV and radio personality, and actress from Plano who has performed at the famous Apollo Theatre and assumed the role as a sidekick for Don Imus' nationally syndicated Imus in the Morning program. Michaels, who hails from Amarillo, has been featured in the New York Underground Comedy Festival and won best in show at the Calgary Comedy Festival. They'll be here this Friday and Saturday.
Parental Guidance We all know that Billy Crystal + Bette Midler = reel comedy. The comedy veterans play Artie and Diane, the old-fashioned grandparents to the kids of 21st-century, Type A's Alice (Marisa Tomei) and Phil (Tom Everett Scott). Things get hairy when helicopter-parents Alice and Phil need to leave town for work and, unfortunately, leave their kids with Artie and Diane. Rated PG, you can bring the older kiddos to this one.
