								Matt’s Rancho Martinez
This family-owned restaurant, the progeny of the venerable Matt’s Famous El Rancho in Austin, is a vast indoor and outdoor space. The giant two-level dining room (private room adjacent) has a bar in the back and a giant mural of Texas all-stars is joined by a rocking patio. The neighborhood joint is most lauded for its chile relleno and chicken-fried steak platters. It’s also got a bit of myth attached to it in the popular Bob Armstrong Dip, layers of taco meat, guacamole, sour cream and queso in a bowl named after a former Texas Land Commissioner. After dinner and a couple potent margaritas, scoot on over to the to historic Lakewood Theater next door for its monthly burlesque revue.
