Support the independent voice of Dallas and help keep the future of Dallas Observer free.
Burgermeister Jack Perkins announced via Facebook yesterday that the Food Network will be airing the Maple and Motor-featured episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives on Monday, April 9, at 9 p.m.
The gloriously douchey (But somehow still lovable? No? Just me?) Guy Fieri tore through Dallas in late 2011 and stopped by other Dallas staples, including Il Cane Rosso, Pecan Lodge, Chop House Burgers in Arlington, Pepe's and Mito's and Good 2 Go Taco.
This was his second tour through the Big D, after he spotlighted Chef Point Cafe and Deep Ellum's Twisted Root in 2009. He was also the spokesdude for Dallas-based Carlson Restaurants' flagship chain T.G.I. Fridays. Dough-flinger Jay Jerrier also announced this week the date of Cane Rosso's episode, which will air on April 30. No word yet on the debut of the other episodes featuring local spots, but get busy stuffing your faces with juicy burgers and Neapolitan pizza before all hell breaks loose.
Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
