Openings: Proof + Pantry (1722 Routh): This new restaurant by cocktail wiz Michael Martensen is now open in One Arts Plaza.
Kate Weiser Chocolate (3011 Gulden Ln): Kate Weiser is making chocolate into art in Trinity Groves, and it's delicious.
Ashwood Bar & Kitchen (5500 Greenville Ave): Ashwood, which replaced Bonchon, had its soft opening on August 13, but will celebrate its grand opening this coming Saturday.
Muscle Maker Grill (2217 Greenville Ave): If you've driven down Lower Greenville Avenue lately, you might have noticed the Muscle Maker Grill, a restaurant that quietly slid into the old Company Café spot.
CBC (3600 Main St): CBC (Cold Beer Company) is now open in Deep Ellum.
Shivas Bar & Grill (1907 Greenville Ave): This new late-night Indian restaurant on Lower Greenville is now open.
Houndstooth Coffee (1900 N Henderson): This new Henderson Ave. coffee shop has taken over the former Pearl Cup space.
The Shed (1010 S Pearl Expy): The Shed (formerly Shed 1) opened inside the Dallas Farmers Market over Labor Day Weekend. D magazine has all the details.
Off the Record (2716 Elm): This bar and record shop is now open in the space next to Dada.
Hypnotic Donuts Denton (235 W Hickory): Hypnotic donuts has finally expanded into Denton.
Closings: House 34 (3403 McKinney Ave): The McKinney Avenue restaurant is closed.
Herrera's (4024 Maple Ave): Herrera's was scheduled to close on August 18 and relocate soon across the street, but that fell through. It won't be reopening in Oak Lawn anytime soon.
Belly & Trumpet (3407 McKinney Ave): Culture Map reports on the sudden closure of Uptown's Belly & Trumpet.
Union Bear (3699 McKinney Ave): The West Village pizza and beer joint closed this week. Eats blog has all the details.
Fedora (1722 Routh): The One Arts Plaza restaurant temporarily closed in May and, according to Eats Blog, won't be re-opening.
