Support the independent voice of Dallas and help keep the future of Dallas Observer free.
Really, all we're doing the rest of today is killing time till the 9 p.m. premiere of the fourth season of Project Runway on Bravo -- which, as we told you way, way back when, features a Dallasite. Course, the official site refers to him as 39-year-old Marion Lee, but you know him as Urban Flower/Grange Hall's Jeffrey Lee.
Technically, there are two local contestants: The other's Elisa Jimenez, whose clothes are ... uh ... interesting? Notes her Bravo bio, the 42-year-old El Paso native graduated from the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and got her fine arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She's a big-deal designer, having designed for the likes of Courtney Love and Cher and having shown at Olympus Fashion Week in 2005. In fact, eight years ago she was featured in Texas Monthly: "Don’t look for her creations at your local mall, however: Jimenez prefers sewing directly onto your body." Ow-wa. --Robert Wilonsky
Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
