Another Friday is here and the coming cold front promises a chilly weekend ahead. If you don't have any food plans you should check out Lauren's list of things to do, but please, avoid pumpkin vodka at all cost. There are better ways to warm yourself with spirits.

This week I reviewed Mughlai Fine Indian Cuisine. If you're into Indian food the restaurant is a must visit, and if you're not, it may be the place to convert you.

Elsewhere on CoA, we celebrated National Taco Day with seven of our favorite taquerias, and announced the opening of TJ's, a new menu at Chicken Scratch and the arrival of Italia Express.

Over on the Eats Blog Leslie Brenner reviews Monica's and awards three stars.

And Side Dish has an interesting look on a new dive called the Regal Beagle on Greenville Avenue. Apparently they stuff things. Everything. I'm all over it.

Entree Dallas checks out White Rock Coffee and checks in on their roasting process. If you've ever smelled smoky coffee beans as they pour from that hot, spinning drum, you know it's amazing.

And on the Taco Trail, José announced a big taco party he's throwing next year and interviewed Richard Rivera from Digg's Taco.

Enjoy that cooler weather, and be sure to come back next week. We'll be celebrating more of our best restaurants taking a look at a new fast food concept, while continuing to work on expanding our waistlines.

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
