Thanks to Twitter user @RodDurham for pointing this one out to me. Travel + Leisure just published a list of the 21 best sushi restaurants in the country, and two of my favorites are included.

Yes, yes, Uchi is mentioned, and rightfully so. The Austin based sushi restaurant served me up one of my most memorable meals this year. But I'm really happy to see Yutaka mentioned. I think the small strip-mall sushi restaurant is definitely one of the best places for sushi in Dallas.

I love Yutaka's tiny and busy dining room. And a wait for a seat at the bar is never a bother since I simply spend my time nibbling on salty, grilled meats at Sharaku, the izakaya run by the same owners next door.

Meanwhile, Tei-An is the only sushi restaurant in Dallas to earn a coveted five-star review from The Dallas Morning News. And Teppo and Tei Tei Robata Bar both have excellent sushi options as well. Whether or not you agree that Yutaka belongs on a list of 21 of the best sushi restaurants in the country, I think we can all agree that we're lucky to have a really good sushi scene in Dallas.
