If you're ready to be hardcore convinced that our food system is going to pot, you'll want to head over to the Texas Theater this weekend to enjoy the new feature-length documentary GMO OMG.
The film is based on director Jeremy Seifert's search for real food. When he can't find that, he instead looks for answers. His overriding question is: "Is it even possible to reject the food system currently in place or have we lost something we can't gain back?"
We're not really the betting types, but if we were, we'd slide our chips over to the square that reads "Monsanto." In the film, Seifert actually waltzes right through the doors of Monsanto HQ, where the only answer he gets is, "Sir, you should leave right now."
For a primer, Seifert will be a guest on KERA's Think with Krys Boyd Thursday at 1 p.m.
You can watch the trailer below and buy tickets online. There are two showings at Texas Theatre: 5 p.m. this Sunday and again on Tuesday, October 1, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $9.50 each.
