Last night amidst a whirlwind of whiskey shots inside the business card-encrusted walls of New Orleans' Old Absinthe House (the only bar on Bourbon Street I've found that's worthy of visiting so far, and the spot where everyone who's anyone seems to convene post-Tales dinners and parties), I ran into Omar Yeefoon, whom cocktail enthusiasts may know as the drink wizard manning the helm at Mockingbird Station den-o-mixology The People's Last Stand.  Over the raucous din, Omar shared that he parted ways with People's two weeks ago and is back to tending bar at Cedars Social.  Never one to dilly-dally, he of course has a new project already in the works. I couldn't get many details out of him (or maybe I did and I forgot; there was a lot of Jameson consumed last night, OK?), but the new place is slated to open in September in the old Trece space on Travis Street across from Villa-O. Stay tuned for more deets as they become available.
