These folks, at least, love the catfish and hush puppies at the Duck Inn in Lake Dallas; then again, the joint has been around since World War II was still raging, so, yeah, it's probably not so bad. (Says the family that's owned it since the joint was nothing more than a three-bedroom house: "The Duck Inn's devoted clientele travels from all over the country for the incomparable catfish and famous hush puppies.") So, guess what: It can be all yours, for the low, low price of $639,500.
Only, be sure to have your negotiatin' shoes on: Says the site: "The secret recipes are still owned by the Howard family, and can be negotiated with the sale." Sounds like without them recipes, the Duck Inn is little more than an old three-bedroom house near Willow Grove Park. Come to think of it, that sounds nice too. --Robert Wilonsky
