October's Openings and Closings from the Dallas Restaurant Scene

As summer comes to an end, a number of restaurants have opened and closed their doors. In-N-Out Burger continued its Texas growth with an Arlington location late last month. Lover's Lane Olive Oil Company expanded from its flagship store, Grapevine Olive Oil Company, and set up shop on West Lovers Lane, just off the tollway.

Restaurant Openings: Private Social (3232 McKinney Ave): Top Chef contestant Tiffany Derry and Rocco Milano, (who recently left the Mansion at Turtle Creek to oversee the beverage program at Private Social) are behind the Private Social's food and drinks. The Uptown hot spot opened its doors late last month.

SugarBox (3000 Blackburn St. #180) : The dessert and coffee bar opened earlier last month and has been serving up homemade sweets like cupcakes, French macarons, cake balls, cakes and dog-friendly pupcakes.

Uncle Uber's Sammich Shop (2713 Commerce St.) : Uncle Uber's set up shop in the heart of Deep Ellum last month and has since been serving up sandwiches and salads.

Princi Italia (5959 Royal Ln) : The Italian restaurant serves a variety of pizza and pasta. According to the restaurant's website, starting October 16 will serve Sunday brunch.

Crimson Asian Cuisine (3000 Blackburn Ave. #140C): The new West Village restaurant serves Vietnamese dishes like pho, rice noodles and stir-fries.

Restaurant Closings: Burger Girl (4444 McKinney Ave.): The Mckinney Ave. burger house is no more.

Taqueria El Fuego (1891 North Plano Road): The Richardson Taqueria abruptly closed its doors.

Tramontana (8220 B Westchester Drive ): The Park Cities New-American restaurant is closed for good.

Lakewood Bar and Grill (6340 Gaston Ave ) : After 18 years of business, exorbitant rent forced the bar and grill to close its doors. Al's Pizzeria (3701 W Northwest Hwy): The Northwest Highway pizzeria has temporarily closed its doors, but is looking for a new location to set up shop.
