Already bored with dining this year? That seems impossible with all of the new restaurants that have opened in the past few months. Still, it's nice to break out of your mold and explore new dining options that exist outside the traditional restaurant experience.
Here are a few upcoming events that look particularly good.
Matt McCallister Guest Chef Series at FT33 That Matt McCallister is hosting guest chefs is nothing new, but this year he's stacked an impressive lineup. Richard Kuo is coming to town from his Pearl & Ash restaurant in New York, which Pete Wells awarded two stars in the New York Times and called one of the city's most exciting places to drink wine in a review last year.
Benjamin Sukle, who was nominated for best chef New England in Food and Wine, will be bringing with him the lessons he learned while cooking at Noma, regarded by some as the best restaurant in the world. Seth Siegel-Gardner will be up from Houston's The Pass & Provisions, and Bryce Gilmore will share some of the cooking from Austin's Barley Swine.
Here's the complete lineup. A seat will set you back $110 per person for the eight-course menu and $50 per person for wine pairings. Call the restaurant to make reservations.

2nd Annual Steward's Dinner Joel Salatin is coming back for the 2nd Annual Steward's Dinner. The event will be set up as an indoor fair with activities, music an open bar, and with small plates of locally-inspired innovative dishes prepared by local Dallas celebrity chefs. Proceeds from the event will provide scholarships for local farmers to participate in a clean economy series workshop featuring Joel Salatin.

David Anthony Temple Fundraiser for White Rock Local Market Chef DAT will host a 6-course tasting menu and BYOB at Garden Cafe in East Dallas. The cost is $70 and the dinner will feature ingredients from farmers featured at the market including Kitchen Pride Mushrooms, Latte Da Dairy, Fruth Farms Southwest, JUHA Ranch, Rae Lilli, Paul Quinn College, White Rock Local Garden, Empire Baking Company, JJ&B Jams and Jellies, Eagle Mountain Cheese, Texas Honey Bee Guild, Noble Coyote Coffee Roaster and more.
